Using internet route visualisation data collected over the last 24 years, World Wide Mindreflects on the evolution of global information exchange and depicts the futuristic reality of the network as it has become increasingly connected, intelligent and decentralised. The Internet’s flow of information has traditionally been represented by drawing lines from one point to another on a 2D plane. World Wide Mind is an invitation to see the web in a different light.

“There is an invisible layer in our everyday reality made up of signals traveling

through space at high speed. They keep a record of human history, creating a shared memory and forming a global nervous system. Some signals like blinking flashlights disappear into the dark void of the web, some propagate further into every corner of our massive, interconnected and ever-changing living entity. Are we collectively growing an intellect into existence? Will the human mind be able to co-evolve with its own creation?”
