Found in Translation: Design in California and Mexico, 1915–1985 is a groundbreaking exhibition about design dialogues between the two states, separated into four main sectors: Spanish Colonial Inspiration, Pre-Hispanic Revivals, Folk Art and Craft Traditions, and Modernism. Charting developments throughout the anthropocene and the shifting perspectives on furniture, ceramics, metalwork, graphic design and architecture, 250 displayed objects place prominent figures such as Richard Neutra, Luis Barragán, Charles and Ray Eames, and Clara Porset in a new context whilst also highlighting contributions of less familiar practitioners.

At Los Angeles County Museum of Art from 17 September. For more information: www.lacma.org
