Curated by Rachel Thomas, Head of Exhibitions at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the multidisciplinary exhibition includes 12 master painting works by Ithell Colquhoun presented in conversation with leading and emerging international artists including Linder Sterling, Jesse Mockrin, Anna Weyant, Bharti Kher, Richard Malone and Stacey Gillian Abe.
“Inspired by Ithell Colquhoun’s art, as an art of transformation, the exhibition explores what it means to be human in a climate of chaos and change. The exhibition takes us on a rite of passage; ultimately exploring humanity through journeys and transmutations of the mind. Ithell Colquhoun left copyright on all her artworks to charities concerned with physical, environmental and emotional health and wellbeing. In reflection of this, the exhibition is presented in aid of Samaritans and Pieta House, a Dublin based self-harm service.”
