EARTH DAY: APPETITE FOR JUSTICE

This Earth Day, 22 April, the Colleges across UAL saw a wellspring of activity from staff, students and alumni. At Central Saint Martins, workshops, performances and talks filled the communal and public spaces highlighting creative and optimistic ways toward ecological justice.

REPAINTING HEARTS AT THE NATIONAL COVID MEMORIAL WALL

In collaboration with Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice and activists Led By Donkeys, BA Graphic Communication Design students repainted the memorial for those who died from COVID-19, helping to set it in perpetuity.

LVMH, Imperial College London and CSM are working together to develop lab-grown fur fibres for luxury fashion.

SAUL NASH, BA PERFORMANCE: DESIGN AND PRACTICE ALUM WINS THE WOOLMARK AWARD

“I can’t describe how much this means to me. I just want to thank, so much, the Woolmark team. You’ve changed the trajectory of my life.”

Saul Nash was awarded 2022’s International Woolmark Prize. The prize comes with a life-changing sum, of $144,000 and has a long and rich history of altering the trajectory of some of the world’s best-known fashion designers.
