And the demand for infrastructure modernization has gone hand-in-hand with calls for highly-skilled jobs and the revitalization of U.S. manufacturing. Siemens USA — a technology, manufacturing and engineering powerhouse — is positioned to take a major role with its connected traffic and power grids, advanced apprenticeship programs and manufacturing plants of the future.
Siemens recently participated in the White House’s Workforce Development Week after Ivanka Trump visited its Berlin apprenticeship training center in April. The company’s digital technologies are also in the spotlight after a multibillion dollar string of software company acquisitions made over the last decade. POLITICO Focus recently sat down with Siemens USA’s chief executive officer, Judy Marks, to discuss these moves.
