Pioneering Equality.

Brooklyn Museum examines the cultural and aesthetic priorities of black women during the emergence of second-wave feminism in America. The event re-orientates conversations about race, feminism and creative practices within society, in a time of radical change. Presenting a diverse group of artists and activists who lived and worked at the intersection of avant-garde developments and radical political movements, the exhibition features performance, film, and video art, as well as photography, painting, sculpture and printmaking.

We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965-85 is open until 17 September. For further information please visit: www.brooklynmuseum.org
